As the holidays fast approached, Casa Búho took the time to celebrate Christmas within our own little community, too.
Our Mañana de Lectura group celebrated their last round of “challenges” which included decorating the tiny Casa Búho Christmas tree and creating a snowman out of marshmallows and toothpicks (which, of course, they ate afterwards). Thanks to the generosity of Zonacuario, we were able to reward the students that filled out all or the majority of their challenges with candy, stacks of Capitan Escudo comic books and joke books!
That afternoon, we read a new pop-up book titled “Cuco Papa Noel” that explored the wondrous world of the north pole. Afterwards, the students created snowy postcards with watercolor and crayons.
On Tuesday, our Baby Búhos group got messy, as usual, and placed their handprints on handmade paper mittens to use as ornaments.
Tuesday afternoon was full of cheer as we decorated a Christmas tree with Casa Búho owls decked out in holiday spirit and Santa hats!
On Wednesday afternoon, our class made 3-D Christmas tree cards for their parents.
With our Peque Búhos group, we worked on sensory and “coloring inside the lines” by making snowmen out of cotton and decorating them with a wintery collage.
From all of us here at Casa Búho, we wish you happy holidays and a happy New Year!
